Book Description

Lost in a world full of monstrous fairies, a troubled sixteen year old has to find out who she is and why her memories were stolen before she is found by those who want her dead.

She takes the name “Memory” and knows she has just one goal – to find her way home, wherever that is. But this land is strange. No technology to be seen, and iron is banned, thanks to a pact the humans have with the magical creatures who share their pre-industrial era world. In her t-shirt and torn jeans, Memory knows she’s different, even before she performs impossible magic.

Haunted by her past, chased by a dragon, wanted by the king and stalked by the strange, handsome savage that seems to know her, everyone is after Memory, and she suspects it’s not just for her eye-catching outfit. Her forgotten past holds dangerous secrets that will challenge everything she believes and risk the lives of everyone she loves.

Memory’s Wake contains over 45 illustrations by the author and artist.

Review

What more could you want from a book than a strong female lead, fairies, dragons, and mystical worlds full of deadly creatures. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the page to know what was happening. Also, the fact there are illustrations in this book is amazing. Not only are you transported to an amazing world in your head but now you get to see what the author sees for the story. I love it!

This book was so great and incredibly easy to read. You couldn't help but to become lost in the pages as you go along with Memory through her adventure. I love the magical world that Selina has created and honestly I would love to go there.

Now a little about the book itself. Memory is the heroine of this tale and Memory is actually a nickname because she is unable to recall anything from her past. The story is about Memory and her searching for who she is, where she comes from, and what her past is about.

For me this book was packed with action and adventure. I loved every glorious page and couldn't wait for more stuff to happen. I became so immersed in this book which made it that much more enjoyable. Selina really knew how to draw a reader in and create this world that you never wanted to leave.

This book is totally worth reading if you love adventure and magical worlds full of dragons, faeries, and other creatures that you can't help but love. I totally recommend this book and can't wait to continue with the trilogy.
